Zim reduces tourism fees

 Zimbabwean tourism has received a boost following government approval of a tourism fee review with some cut by 25-50% and others scrapped completely.

The announcement was made at a post-Cabinet briefing attended by Zimbabwe’s Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Barbara Rwodzi.

This reform is part of the wider ease-of-doing-business agenda aimed at lowering operational costs, enhancing competitiveness and driving sustainable growth in Zimbabwe’s economy.

The review, conducted through a consultative process, covered the accommodation, hospitality and catering, tour guides and operators, boating services and vehicle rental services subsectors. All of these subsectors have been constrained by a complex regulatory environment, according to the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.
